Chawton Park Indoor Bowls Club Ltd was established in 1996, the club has a 6 rink Greengauge carpet 36.6m x 4.8m
Current membership is a mix of social players, learners, beginners, average and some superstars. No matter what level of experience there is an enjoyment in playing or supporting this local club with a great variety of games and matches available. Members travel from local towns - Petersfield, Haslemere, Liphook, Farnham, Aldershot and the villages between, as well as many from Alton town itself.
Equipment can be provided to ‘give it a go’ - there must be many budding players seeing the TV coverage and thinking that looks like something I could do??? Just call the club number - 01420 541546 - or just visit the club - we are open most of the day
Membership fee is £75 for the year - there being no joining fee.
The playing season runs from September to Easter each year and the club opens from 9.30am to late evening every day of the week.
During Summer there are club roll-ups on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10am to Noon and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9 pm. Occasional matches at weekends.
The club has a fully licensed bar.
Matches are combined with leagues during weekdays and friendly inter-club matches most Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Match fees usually £ 4.50 for the afternoon, this includes light refreshments after the match.
Competitive matches include a County Mens league on Saturday mornings and knockout competitions are available at National and Club levels. The mens club competition winners and runners up representing the club in the County knockout final stages.
Coaching is available from a team of qualified coaches at all levels. Coaching fee £ 5 for 2 hour session.
